As I begin to pack for our trip on the Virgin Voyage’s Valiant Lady, I’m wondering what I should truly expect on this cruise. Some of my friends and a few cruisers have raised an eyebrow followed by uncertain comments.
“Oh, really? I’ve heard interesting things about Virgin. Not sure I would want to travel with them.”
“Oh, well, well… I hope you’re into wild parties. Wink, wink.”
I’ve been assured by Virgin Voyages representatives that it’s not all parties and wildness. They even claim there are areas on the ship where a person can relax and get away from the party scene.
Well, I’m about to find out.
My first article on the subject is to give an overview of the ship from the viewpoint of what Virgin states on their own website. Later, in a future post, I will share what I found while onboard. I’m not intending to list everything they have to offer on their cruises but instead, focus on my journey with them.

This is the Valiant Lady… quite the awesome photo! Her maiden voyage was in 2022 so has only been working a few years. Currently she goes to the Caribbean.
The maximum amount of sailors on this ship is 2762 which is a big selling point for me. Unlike some with 4000-5000+, this amount sounds quite lovely in comparison. Plus, no kids allowed on their ships so it’s truly an adults only experience.
I’ve heard there’s a lot of drinking on board and the overall feel of that statement makes me wonder if it’s more drinking than on other cruise lines. I have a feeling it might be a bit more since there are no kids on board but will it really be that much different than any other cruise?
There’s also the rumor of adult themed comedy shows. When I looked on their site, I wasn’t able to find information on it but, once onboard, I’m sure to find out. I did notice a few unusual shows that I’m not sure about but what’s truly nice about cruising is that you can watch or participate with what you want and skip the rest.
If you visit their website, you can see 3D deck plans where it takes off layers of decks in order to show you what’s on each one. It’s really fun. You can also see their deck plans in a non-3D, more easily readable version.
So! We are excited to go on this cruise and see what Virgin Voyages is all about and I’m anxious to gain the experience so I can share what I find with my Journey Friends.
What’s a Journey Friend, I hear you ask. It’s what I call my friends & family who like to travel, my clients who book their vacations with me, and those who just love to talk about past and future travels. Hey Journey Friend!
